MACKENZIE McKee faced criticism from fans for dressing up as Latina popstar Selena after she was accused of being “racist” for comments she made earlier this year.
The Teen Mom OG star was branded “racist” after calling Vice President Kamala Harris “colored” on Facebook.
Mackenzie, 27, decided to dress up as Latina singer-songwriter Selena with her seven-year-old daughter Jaxie for Halloween.
The mother-daughter duo sported two of the pop star’s most famous looks as they shared photos and videos to social media before trick or treating.
The TV personality wore a sequined bra, tight black jeans, and a matching jacket and hat, while her mini-me donned a purple bodysuit complete with bell bottoms and a stomach cutout.
Mackenzie wore her hair up with full glam makeup, while Jaxie added a long dark wig to her costume.
The MTV star created TikToks as she and her daughter transformed into the beloved singer, and shared photos from the neighborhood as they enjoyed the holiday.
However, fans were not so enthused as they slammed the mother of three for dressing as a Latina despite her recent controversial comments.
Many took to Reddit to roast Mackenzie as “cringe” for the costume choice.
“Anyone else think this is cringe? Maybe I am alone one this one,” one wrote, while re-sharing photos of the pair.
“WAIT, she went as a ‘latina woman’? wtf is wrong with her. Martina Martinez checking in,” a second ranted.
A third complained: “The fact that this chick said some pretty racist things and then goes off to cosplay a Latina dosen’t sit right.
“Like homegirl really didn’t learn ANYTHING. But she’ll still get people saying she’s just stupid.”
“I’m Hispanic. The costumes do not bother me, since she isn’t trying to darken her skin with make-up,” another reasoned.
“What bothers me is that she said racist s**t and that She also probably can’t name one Selena song.”
“I don’t think it’s offensive per say but it’s definitely in poor taste considering Mack is racist lol,” a final contributed.
MACKENZIE’S MISTAKE
Mackenzie’s backlash followed her controversial statement in January about Vice President Kamala Harris.
She wrote on Facebook at the time: “Sorry, no. There are a lot of amazing women in the world for my daughters to look up to and see as role models. Kamala Harris is not one of them.
“It blows my mind that out of all the amazing colored women in this world, that is the one who is making history.”
After receiving criticism for her statement, Mackenzie personally apologized to her Teen Mom co-star Cheyenne Floyd in a tense phone call.

Since then, the two have been in a bitter feud, and during the show’s reunion filming last month tensions ran hot.
Mackenzie claimed that she was left out of the group photos as she had to film separately because Cheyenne “hates” her.
However, the California native shot back that her castmate had an “odd fixation” on her and asked that the blonde leave her “alone.”
Cheyenne also recalled a disturbing comment that Mackenzie made during their phone call, saying that her husband Josh feared she would act like an “angry black woman” when they talked on the phone.
Mackenzie has denied the statement and clapped back at her co-star who she said was creating “sad lies.”
