Linda gave the candidates a grilling

Karren Brady made show history as she stepped up to the mark of being a member of the interview panel for the first time ever.

However, she was not alone as show legends Linda Plant, Mike Soutar and Claude Litner made their return’s to the contest to cast their beady eyes over the contestants.

All four of the titans went through the finalists business plans with a fine tooth comb in order to pick up on the mistakes and give them a good grilling.

The arrival of the show legends left fans ecstatic as they raced to Twitter to express their delight.

One fan declared online: “Mike, Linda, Karren and CLAUDE… LET THE GAMES BEGIN.”

A second wrote of The Apprentice icon Linda: “Linda Plant needs to have her own show.”

While a third shared: “I see Linda Plant on my TV screen one day a year and it’s my favourite day of the year, rip them to shreds girl.”

Another viewer added: “Great to have Claude back.”

With a fellow fan echoing: “Glad to see Claude back!”

Before a sixth commented: “I love Linda Plant she is my favourite from the interviews.”

The comments continued to roll in for show legends Claude and Linda as they assisted Lord Alan Sugar on who he should take through to the final round.

Megan Hornby, Dani Donovan and Victoria Goulbourne gave it their all but found themselves in the firing line as Lord Sugar gave them their marching orders after a tough round of deliberation.

Following her exit from the show, Dani told The Celeb Report and other press that facing the hard-faced business icons was not even the worst part of the day.

Dani explained: “The day felt like it went on forever!

“It was all of the anticipation, all of the build-up – I think that was actually worse than the actual interviews themselves because in those interviews you are talking about something you know and love, you are talking about your business.

“You think it would be talking to the interviewers that would be the worst thing but for me it was that awkward walk through a huge empty room while they just sit and stare at you – I thought that was the worst part!”
