Claude Littner is set to make an explosive return to The Apprentice this series following his horror crash – and he’s ‘ready and raring to go’.
The 72-year-old businessman will make his comeback on the BBC show in time for this year’s interview rounds with the contestants, after he was forced to pull out of being Lord Sugar’s aide this year.
Claude injured his right leg while riding his electric bike last year.
The injury was so bad, doctors reportedly thought of amputating Claude’s leg.
As part of his recovery, he has already undergone multiple surgeries.
But, viewers will be delighted to see him back on screen in the coming weeks for the most dramatic episode of the series – the interviews.
Quizzed about how is now feeling, Claude said: “I’m feeling absolutely fantastic. I’m raring to go and really looking forward to being back for the interview stage of the process.”
He admitted he was expecting to be returning this series so was delighted when Lord Sugar asked for him to get on board.
He explianed: “The whole team went to so much trouble to have me back. I had written off this series, but it would seem Lord Sugar and the production company had other ideas!
“It was quite funny how it came about; Alan arrived at my house one day (although he phoned me almost daily!) and he just said, “You will do the interviews, won’t you?” and I replied, “Yes, of course”.
“The moment it came out of my mouth I was thinking, how on earth am I actually going to do it? The truth is, by the time it came to filming I was feeling better but the team had been so kind and gone to so much trouble so I could be involved.”
The multimillionaire executive has appeared as an interviewer on the show since it began in 2005, and he replaced Nick Hewer as Lord Sugar’s aide in 2015.
Tim Campbell, the winner of the very first series of The Apprentice in 2005, replaced Claude for season 16.
