WHAT’S NEW
Enola Holmes – Netflix
Enola Holmes is back ready to solve another fiendishly difficult mystery
After stepping out of the large and intimidating shadow of her big brother, Sherlock, the equally brilliant Enola Holmes is back, ready to solve another fiendishly difficult mystery.
Having decided to set up her own detective agency, feisty Enola (Millie Bobby Brown) realises work is pretty hard to come by when your celebrated sibling (Henry Cavill) has cornered the market.
But just as she’s about to call time on her dream, Enola receives her first case: to find the missing sister of a poor matchstick girl. Helped by pals Edith (Susan Wokoma) and Viscount Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge), she’s soon off on another irreverent adventure that’s filled with fourth wall-breaking action, comedy and romance.
Much like the first film, the liberties this movie takes with the original Holmes stories are unlikely to please purists, but it’s hard to resist such rip-roaring Victorian mystery fun.

Well, this new four-part drama acts as a prequel to that story, whisking viewers back to the early 1900s where the kids’ grandmother Olivia (Jemima Rooper) falls in love with and marries eligible bachelor Malcolm Foxworth (Max Irons), only for the dream romance to turn into a violent nightmare <very> quickly.
It’s the perfect gloomy gothic horror.

Season two of The action thriller, The Mosquito Coast is here and it’s one to watch

Keeping things in the family, this version of the story stars writer Paul’s nephew Justin Theroux as idealist engineer Allie Fox.
Something of an outsider, Allie lives off-grid in the middle of nowhere with his wife Margot (Melissa George) and teenage kids Dina (Logan Polish) and Charlie (Gabriel Bateman).
Cinematic and pacey, the first season is an adrenaline-fuelled cat-and-mouse thrill-ride, with unexpected twists and turns, and Justin at his most grizzled and tough.
Season two starts this week, promising more of the same, the family still forging ahead into the unknown, always keeping several eyes on what dangerous foes might be following them.
A genuinely enjoyable action thriller, stuffed with characters you’ll be rooting for, The Mosquito Coast is a show with real bite.
