THE second series of winter Love Island is just around the corner – but can you remember the first ever series of the ITV2 dating show?
Love Island hit our screens back in 2005.

Back then the show was called Celebrity Love Island was presented by none other than Patrick Kielty, 51, and Kelly Brook, 43.
Kelly took to Instagram to a selection of pictures from their time on the show.
She captioned the post: “Vintage @loveisland
.”
Kelly only appeared on the first series of the show, but later presented shows such as Dirty Dancing: The Time of Your Life and Celebrity Naked Ambition.
She married Jeremy Parisi in July last year.
Meanwhile Patrick has hosted various shows including Comic Relief Does Fame Academy, Sport Relief and The One Show.
Patrick is married to Cat Deeley and they share two kids.
The first season saw 13 celebrities fly to an island in Fiji in a bid to find love.
Viewers voted for them to get to know one another, as well as vote couples out each week.
Jayne Middlemiss and Fran Cosgrave ended up winning the £50,000 cash prize.
The following year a second series was filmed, but Fearne Cotton took Kelly’s place presenting.
This time around there was 16 Islanders, with the likes of Kelle Bryan and Brendan Cole taking part.
Bianca Gascoigne and Calum Best were crowned winners.
Nine years later a reboot of the show was launched.
The first series of Love Island, hosted by Caroline Flack, premiered in June 2015 and has become a huge fan favourite.
So much so that ITV created a winter series of the programme in January 2020.
Love Island fans don’t have long to wait until they can get their next fix.
The second series of winter Love Island returns this Monday on ITV2 after it was pulled last year due to Covid.
It is Maya Jama‘s first time presenting the show after taking over from Laura Whitmore.
