The Chase fans all have the same complaint as contestant takes low offer with Bradley Walsh taking savage swipe

THE Chase fans were not impressed after a contestant took the lower offer despite being the FIRST player to face quizmaster Shaun Wallace.

ITV presenter Bradley Walsh, 61, was joined by four more hopefuls including contestant Libbie, 27 from Bradford.

Bradley Walsh poked fun at player Libbie

The veterinary surgeon, who is a keen figure skater, hoped to win some money to pay for her wedding.

The contestant had a rocky start and only managed to answer three questions correctly in the cashbuilder round.

Host Bradley was shocked by her poor performance and joked that even “some animals” could have answered those questions.

“Some of those questions there some of your animals could have got,” the host quipped.

Despite Bradley’s cheeky jibe, he pointed out that Libbie’s nerves clearly affected her performance.

Libbie admitted she was incredibly nervous and asked Bradley if she could have another go.

An open-mouthed Bradley simply replied: “Ummm no.”

After banking £3,000 she immediately turned down the higher offer of £27,000 from Shaun Wallace and opted to take the lower offer of £1,000, despite her fellow contestants telling her to stick with the amount she had earned.

However, ITV viewers were gobsmacked that Libbie took the lower offer despite there being no money in the prize pot to deduct from.

One fan wrote: “Low offer straight off. Surely a first. #TheChase.”

Another posted: “Imagine traveling to #TheChase studios and taking £1k, the low offer. What is the point?”

A third shared: “Low offer. Seat 1. Cracking star FFS. #TheChase”

Another commented: “Low offer off the bat??? #TheChase”

“What’s the point of £1k…what a cop out,” an angry fan said.

Someone else added: “First contestant already ruined it. Hope they get caught now. #TheChase”

Luckily Libbie’s decision to take the lower offer paid off and she made it back to the final chase.

Unfortunately, Libbie’s fellow contestants Richard, 78, a retired café owner, Lowther, Shaun, 32, a welder from Stevenage and Fiona, 65, a creative consultant from Shrewsbury were all caught.

This meant that Libbie was alone in the final chase with a total prize pot of £1,000.

With 11 spaces to catch the player, Shaun had a good head start.

With no push back available, Libbie was caught out by the quizmaster with one minute and nine seconds to spare.

The Chase is on weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
