THE Chase’s Anne Hegerty showed off her cheeky side during last night’s episode as she told a contestant “you’re coming with me”.
Viewers of the ITV programme in hysterics as the 62-year-old got her flirt on to put them off winning the money.
Xander, a student from Rochdale, who is studying theatre and performance at Leeds Beckett University was definitely taken a back by Anne’s comments.
At the start of his segment the 20-year-old admitted that he likes watching movies in his spare time and even had his own podcast where he discusses films he’s watched.
Host Bradley asked him his favourite film of all time, to which he admitted that RoboCop is his all time number one.
The presenter wasn’t impressed with his choice and changed the subject by asking what he would if he won the money.
“I’ll buy a big McDonalds,” he replied.
He quickly corrected his answer and said: “No I won’t, I won’t I’ll put it towards teacher training or something like that, towards my student loan…”
Xander only managed to get ONE of his questions right, so when the chaser Anne stepped onto set, his nerves started to kick in.
Anne brutally greeted the contestant by saying: “Xander, that wasn’t a drama lesson was it? It was more of a tragedy.”
After Xander decided to take the £1000, Anne started with her fighting talk… but things soon turned flirty.
She said: “As RoboCop might say: ‘alive or dead, you’re going home’.”
Xander was quick to point out that the character doesn’t say that in the movie and corrected her.
“Dead or alive, you’re coming with me,” he said as he pointed at Anne.
And Anne smoothly said back: “Yes but you’re not coming home with me, I’m taking you home.”
The 20-year-old couldn’t quite believe what had happened.
And many viewers of the show couldn’t get over how hilarious their encounter was.
One wrote on Twitter: “Xander is funny #TheChase.”
A second said: “Quite like Xander, he’s funny #TheChase.”
A third joked: “Did Xander drink too much Red Bull in the green room? #thechase.”
Anne’s flirty banter comes just moments after she told host Bradley “you’re dead”.
The host took his jokey comments a little too far yesterday when he compared her to Godzilla – which left Anne extremely unimpressed.
