One of the contestant’s on the latest episode was mother-of-two Alexa.

She along with three other participants were all hoping to walk away with a big prize jackpot.

However, fans at home immediately started to complain as their smart devices started to turn on.

Because of the woman’s name being the key phrase that activates Amazon‘s Alexa technology.

It left some viewers turning off the hit quiz show completely.

Taking to social media, one viewer said: “Jesus Christ she’s after setting my Alexa off.”

“My Alexa is going crazy im out,” wrote another viewer.

A third said: “#TheChase setting everyones Alexa devices off.”

While a fourth remarked: “Alexa is going to set off everyone’s Alexas.”

Alexa managed to start off the game modestly as she built up £4,000 in the cash builder round.

However her luck was short-lived after she was eliminated after being caught by Chaser Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan.

Meanwhile, fans were recently left cringing as cycling legend Bradley Wiggins made a series of blunders during his appearance on the Christmas special of the programme.

The festivities were underway on the ITV quizzing game as Bradley Walsh welcomed four famous faces for the annual Christmas special of the popular show.

The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
