The Chase play breaks record for biggest daytime quiz show win with £75k prize – ending Darragh Ennis’ winning streak

A 20-YEAR-OLD has made history on The Chase winning £75,000 and ending Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis’ six month winning streak.

Essex lad, Eden, won the biggest amount ever on a daytime show as host Bradley Walsh couldn’t contain his excitement over the big win.

The Chase’s Bradley Walsh ran over to congratulate Eden, 20, as he won £75,000

He was the last player standing on Tuesday’s show after his three teammates crashed and burned when they went up against the formidable Chaser.

Eden, 20, told Bradley ahead of his cash builder round that he currently wasn’t working and had no idea what he’d do if he won any money.

“Maybe buy a car, nothing fancy just something with four wheels,” he said, before adding, “maybe an Alfa Romeo.”

But when Bradley joked about the brand, Eden clarified, “probably just a very old, second-hand one.”

Eden went up against Dennis and had 18 questions up his sleeve after a very impressive final round.

Dennis stumbled on a number of questions, either getting them wrong or passing because he didn’t know the answer.

But it worked out well for Eden who managed to get several of the pushbacks correct – even if some of them were guesses.

It came down to the wire and with only five seconds left, Darragh jumped in to answer a question before Bradley had completed asking it.

“Which chocolate company…” Bradley started, with Darragh cutting him off and saying, “Cadbury,” which was wrong.

Bradley then put the question to Eden: “Which chocolate company makes the Milky Bar.”

Eden faltered a bit, before correctly answering “Nestle” and as the host turned back to ask Darragh another question, the buzzer sounded.

“I can’t believe it,” a very excited Bradley shouted out because Eden had just won £75,000.

“Who’s your best mate?” he joked as he went over to congratulate Eden, who couldn’t believe what had just happened.

Bradley added: “This is incredible, he’s 20 years old and just won £75,000.”

“It’s the single highest win in daytime history,”

Darragh also congratulated Eden: “You did very well, it was all about the pushbacks in the end.”

A pumped up Bradley couldn’t get over Eden’s win, as the young lad was still shocked.

“This is the best quiz on telly bar none, this doesn’t happen on any other show,” he exclaimed.

The Chase fans also were shocked at the amazing win and rushed to congratulate Eden.

“Woooow what did I just witness? £75k is just amazing,” wrote one viewer on Twitter.

Another added: “Holy smoke that was superb. Don’t think anyone expected that best single win ever congratulations Eden ‘loadsa money’ enjoy.”

And a third wrote: “Love the chase just watched that young lad win £75,000 wow what a show tonight…. Brilliant.”

But it wasn’t such a great night for Ennis who had his six month and 12 game winning streak ended.
