The Chase star looks unrecognisable in a pic from their former footballing career – but can you guess who it is?

HE is best known for fronting The Chase and his comedic acting, but it seems Bradley Walsh has many strings to his bow.

The 61-year-old was once a professional footballer – and looks recognisable in a throwback picture.

Bradley Walsh looked very different in his football playing days

Bradley is now best known for hosting The Chase

His friend – broadcaster India Willoughby – shared a snap of him in his Brentford kit and asked her followers to guess who it was.

As  a teenager Bradley enjoyed a career as a professional football player.

He played for Brentford in their reserve team, with stints on loan at Dunstable Town, Barnet, Tring Town, Boreham Wood and Chalfont St Peter.

But his footballing success only lasted for a few years before ankle injuries forced him out of the sport, then into showbiz.

He went on to star in Doctor Who before he started hosting the ever popular The Chase, which he has done for 12 years.

Bradley is about to front new BBC1 game show Take Off with Holly Willoughby and will star as Pa Larkin in ITV’s Darling Buds Of May reboot The Larkins.

But he is almost ready to turn his back on his 40-year career in showbiz.

He told us: “You know what, in a couple of years time I won’t have to do any of it, I’ll be retired and that’ll be it.

“It seems like I’m on your screen all the time only because I cram everything in a certain area of the year. We make 210 Chases, 16 Celebrity Chases, 16 Beat The Chasers. It’s only actually 86 days recording.

“So out of 365 days, you’d imagine I have loads of time off. But once you’ve got your bedrock of shows set in, that allows you then to go off and do other things.

“I don’t actually have time off, I have meetings, I have personal appearances I have to make and stuff like that with other things I’ve got going on, so it’s quite tricky to juggle it about.”
