THE Chase viewers have all had the same complaint about the Christmas Special.
A festive edition of the popular ITV quiz show aired over the weekend and saw nearly all of The Chasers take part while in fancy dress.
Each Chaser took on a round each, while Bradley Walsh presided over proceedings.
However, viewers were confused as to why the Chasers were dressed as members of The Addams Family, with Anne Hegerty as Morticia, Paul Sinha as Gomez and Mark Labbett as Lurch.
The characters are usually associated with another holiday – Halloween – and so for many watching The Chase, they didn’t understand why show bosses had chosen the theme for Christmas.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Can I ask a question….why are you guys dressed as the Addams family at Xmas? More Halloween isn’t it? Feel that Twitter needs it clarifying…”
Another added: “Why is it called a Christmas special when there is nothing Christmassy about it? Seems more like a Halloween Special.”
A third tweeted: “Is this a Christmas or Halloween special?”
Others took issue with the fact the episode was a repeat, and not a new one as advertised.
A viewer wrote: “This is not a new episode! No idea why they’re advertising it as a new episode!”
Another tweeted: “This is a repeat from last year, hence the lack of covid restrictions. And they win nothing. Sorry.”
Fans were left gutted earlier this month when they realised there would be no new episodes of The Chase until 2022.
The Chase airs on ITV and is available on ITV Hub.
