THE Chase viewers were convinced that an 80s popstar had joined the quiz show – but can you guess who?
Wednesday’s edition of the ITV show saw four new hopefuls came face-to-face with Chaser Paul Sinha as they battled it to win the prize money.
ITV viewers were left doing a double take, after they noticed that contestant Amanda shared an uncanny resemblance to a pop icon.
The pink-haired Amanda scooped an impressive £5,000 in the cash builder round.
But many fans were left distracted after spotting the striking similarities between Amanda and pop sensation Toyah Wilcox.
One hilariously posted: “Toyah Willcox looks well.”
Another gobsmacked fan wrote: “Toyah ageing well on #TheChase!”
A third shared: “That contestant looks identical to Toyah Wilcox #TheChase.”
A fourth agreed: “Evening all! Toyah Willcox seat 2!”
Another simply posted a GIF of Toyah with neon orange hair at a gig, writing: “It’s a mystery who seat 2 reminds me of…”
Earlier this week, ITV aired an episode of Tipping Point show featuring Toyah.
However viewers were left seriously distracted after spotting how “small” the popstar appeared to look next to fellow contestant Reverend Richard Cole and Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies.
Unfortunately the singer struggled to get any counters out of the Tipping Point machine – luckily she was able to add £400 with her third and final counter.
However, over on The Chase lookalike Amanda made it through to the final chase with her fellow contestants Paul and Lily.
The three players managed to secure a jackpot total of £13,000 for the final chase and set a respectable target of 21 for Paul, unfortunately the Chaser was able to catch them meaning they went home empty handed.
