The Chase viewers seriously distracted by contestant’s behaviour – but can you spot why?

THE Chase viewers were left seriously distracted by a contestant’s “overly enthusiastic” demeanour on the show.

Monday evening’s episode of the ITV quiz show saw Gemma, Lucy, Eoin, Ramji join forces to take on one of the country’s finest brains.

Bradley Walsh couldn’t help but remark that she would make a great Peter Pan

Taking to the table, Lucy – a former air hostess – went up against Chaser Shaun Wallace, in the hope of seeking enough funds to set up her own silversmith workshop.

And Lucy appeared to be a longtime fan of the programme and was clearly enjoying the experience of appearing alongside host Bradley Walsh.

After her cheery attitude charmed the host and Chaser, viewers were left taking to Twitter to complain about her positivity.

One disgruntled viewer moaned: “No one is that happy. Has she not seen the rise in energy prices?”

Echoing their comments, someone else said: “Lucy is very happy, isn’t she?”

While a third added: “She’s just too cheerful for my liking.”

Despite a few negative comments, Lucy did appear popular with other fans of the series.

One viewer was raving so much about the contestant on social media, he wanted to donate to a GoFundMe page to get her own show.

He wrote: “Enchanting is the right word now. I’m absolutely obsessed with Lucy on The Chase. She just seems so full of positivity. Where’s the GoFundMe for her studio? I’ll donate.”

Although Lucy revealed on the programme that she wanted to win the money to set up her own workshop.

But it wasn’t to be for the Isle of Wight native, who was the second contestant to lose out to The Dark Destroyer.

Een quizmaster Bradley couldn’t help but comment on her cheery demeanour.

Bradley exclaimed: “I’m enchanted by you and I think you’ve been a great contestant.”

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
