The new ITV show will see the trio try to answer the question: ‘Are we really as smart as we think we are?’ in a number of ways whilst travelling around the UK, America and Japan.

They are put up to the challenge by some incredibly intelligent children on their home grounds, great apes in the USA, and robot technology over in East Asia.

But one thing Mark can’t get his head around is driving a huge van over in the States.

In one scene from the upcoming show, the TV personality gets himself into a bit of a pickle whilst manoeuvring himself, Anna and Shaun around town.

Mark tries to get used to the vehicle during their drive, but struggles

As Mark tries to get the vehicle started he says: “What am I doing wrong?”

A worried Anne replies: “You need to press a button on the end…”

The gang get going and the former I’m A Celebrity star, who has the joy of sitting at the front of the van with Mark, is seen holding on to the side of vehicle with her dear life.

“How close am I to the parked cars?” Mark asks.

Shaun was left unimpressed with Mark’s driving ability

A scared Anne replies: “Moderately close, I’m probably just twitchy…”

As he turns the corner the TV personality apologies for the bumpy ride and says: “Terribly sorry guys. It’s a bit bigger than I thought it was.”

And although the trio as some of the “biggest brains of the quizzing universe,” the voice explains that driving is quite a complicated skill to master.

They explain: “Although it may appear to be a simple task, driving is one of the most complex challenges your brain can undertake.”

In another episode Shaun seems a lot more comfortable driving around in a smaller car

Mark then shouts: “What on earth was that?!”

“That’s you scraping against the curb,” Anne replies in a stern voice.

The voice over continues: “Processing 11 million pieces of information per second, the brain balances co-ordination, and spacial awareness, to create a seamless journey.

“Well that’s the theory anyway…”

Mark has been a chaser on The Chase since 2009
