THE Chase’s Shaun Wallace raged ‘I just told you!’ at Bradley Walsh as the pair clashed over a question about a rake.
During Wednesday’s edition of the ITV quiz show, Shaun – aka The Dark Destroyer – take on the first contestant in the team, Josh.
He faced the question: “Which of these names describes a libertine or a rake?”
The options were “A: Don Juan, B: Don Carlos or C: Don Felipe.”
Josh opted for A, and said to Bradley: “I’ve got no idea I’m afraid. A rake? Is that something you use in the garden?”
As the audience giggled, Bradley replied: “It is to me – I don’t what a libertine is either.”
It turned out Josh had picked the right answer, and Bradley looked to Shaun for an explanation.
Bradley said: “So a libertine is someone who fights for libertine, I get that.”
But Shaun replied: “No, a libertine is a womaniser, a rake.”
Bradley didn’t appear to take on board what Shaun said as he asked: “What’s a rake?”
With a hint of frustration Shaun snapped: “I just told you, Bradley! A womaniser. A rake, that’s what a womaniser is.”
He then went on to give an example of a rake, sharing the story of Casanova, who was born in Italy in 1725 and who he described as “a very naughty boy.”
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
