THE Grand Tour’s Richard Hammond was showered with abuse by angry drivers after a HUGE road blunder.
The Grand Tour Presents: Carnage A Trois sees Richard and his co-hosts Jeremy Clarkson and James May dive into the bizarre world of French car culture.
During the episode, the trio drive a variety of French-made cars, as well as practising a number of French driving ‘techniques’.
At one point, Richard and James decide to drive around a roundabout like they do in France.
It meant stopping on the roundabout in their respective vehicles to let other cars join, rather than how people use them in the UK which is to give way to cars already on the roundabout.
Within minutes, huge tailbacks have built up at all entrances to the roundabout, with a drone picking up the long line of cars.
As the duo had horns blasted at them, Richard was approached by an angry driver who kicked off at him for stopping in such an awkward spot.
As his swear words were bleeped out, Richard told the camera: “You see, this is what happens.”
He then wound his window down slightly and told the furious motorist: “I’m doing the roundabout the French way to see if it works.”
The man didn’t take it well and continued to gesture and swear as Richard said to the camera: “This is what happens.”
James, who was on the inner lane of the roundabout, watched on and said: “Hammond is being beaten up by the locals, I don’t blame them really.”
The man was then heard shouting “Just f***ing move it!” and James said in voiceover: “Eventually we did [bleep]ing move it.”
The latest special also saw the trio drop a car from a helicopter and catapult another off a cliff in a bid to return it to France.
