The Green Planet viewers seriously concerned for David Attenborough, 95, as he battles freezing Arctic temperatures

DAVID Attenborough’s fans have been left concerned after the star jetted out to the Arctic for his latest project.

The 95-year-old wildlife and nature expert was filmed out in the Arctic sub-zero temperatures for his latest TV programme.

The Green Planet shows the star battling the freezing cold as he presents the new BBC show.

After airing on Sunday night, the episode received praise all around from its viewers, who were overjoyed to have the broadcaster back on their screens.

One wrote: “There is something reassuring having David Attenborough on BBC1 on a Sunday evening #TheGreenPlanet“

Another agreed: “I love having Attenborough back on telly”.

But this didn’t prevent them from growing increasingly concerned for the star.

As stunning as the programme is, the decision to fly out the adored celebrity has been slammed by fans.

They’ve gone wild on social media, demanding that the pensioner should be “protected at all costs”.

One wrote: “BBC sending 95 year old David Attenborough all the way to the arctic.

Another Tweeted: “Standing on the edge of the Antarctic at the age of 95.

A viewer also wrote: “Should we be putting David in such a cold environment. #thegreenplanet #protecthimatallcosts“

The comments continued: “Not being funny but can we seriously consider taking David Attenborough’s passport off him.

“The man should be sat by the fire with a crossword, not freezing in the arse end of nowhere with a video camera #Thegreenplanet“
