The Hit List fans stunned by Martin Kemp and DJ son Roman’s ‘appalling’ performance on music game show

THE Hit List viewers were left open-mouthed after Martin and Roman Kemp’s embarrassing performance – despite their backgrounds in the music business.

Hosted by Rochelle and Marvin Humes, the music show involves guessing the name and artist of a song after listening to the first few seconds.

Martin and Roman Kemp failed to guess many songs

Viewers were understandably expecting singer Martin Kemp and his radio presenter and DJ son Roman Kemp to be experts on the biz.

However, their performance was far from satisfactory.

Even though they made it to the final, they failed to guess classics right and “skipped” most of the songs.

Songs included classics from U2, ABBA, Duran Duran and Bruce Springsteen.

Marvin and Rochelle were surprised by how much they passed

In a further gaffe, Martin even pressed the pass button accidently at one point.

Roman did manage to get Jess Glynne’s song Thursday correctly – before guessing nearly every other day in the week.

Unfortunately, the pair failed to get 10 songs right before their money ran out.

But host Marvin Humes still praised their entertainment factor, telling the father-son pair: “You were brilliant contestants.”

Martin and Roman were playing for charity

And being a celebrity special, Martin and Roman were awarded £1,000 towards their charity despite their shoddy performance.

But they still failed to impress viewers.

Fans flocked to Twitter to share their shock at the errors, pointing out that they should have more know-how considering their backgrounds.

Marvin still called them brilliant contestants

One said: “Do Roman and Martin Kemp have any association with the music business? Just checking.”

A second wrote: “Can I get a job as a DJ? I know more than the ones already on their it seems. Bloody shocking!”

Another penned: “How can Roman & Martin be SO bad at this! Radio presenter and pop star don’t know their music!”

The Hit List is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
