TV schedules have been ripped up following the devastating news as the nation begins to mourn

Buckingham Palace announced the Monarch’s passing at 6:30pm, telling the world: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

“The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

As the nation now enters a period of at least two weeks of mourning, there’s expected disruption to normal TV programming.

Speaking about The Last Leg not going ahead, presenter Adam Hills said it just “doesn’t feel right” to proceed as normal.

“We’ve decided not to do an episode of @thelastleg tonight,” he told fans.

“It just doesn’t feel right. We’ll pay tribute to Her Majesty next week but for now our thoughts are with her family, and all those affected by the news. We hope you understand.”

Channel 4 has told The Celeb Report TV they “will review our schedules daily” as the new series of Gogglebox tonight is in doubt.

EastEnders is set to air this evening on BBC Two, however, Coronation Street and Emmerdale have been dropped from ITV’s schedule.

BBC One and ITV have cleared their entire schedules today for special news bulletins.
