The Love Trap star’s secret connection to Lottie Moss revealed as bizarre dating show kicks off

ONE of the stars of new reality show, The Love Trap, has a surprising connection to model Lottie Moss.

The new dating show will see an array of beautiful women compete for the attention of a handsome stranger – but there’s a dramatic catch.

The Love Trap has eight women competing against each other to win a coveted £20,000 cash prize if they can seduce 34-year-old personal trainer David Birtwistle, however, only half of them are single.

One of the women competing is Thea who has a surprising connection to Kate Moss’ sister, Lottie Moss.

The two are best friends and Thea revealed her pal was not happy finding out about her being on The Love Trap until after the show filmed.

“Lottie Moss has been my best friend since we were 15. We went to different schools, but when you’re at school, everyone knows everyone from every town,” she explained.

“We’d been to the same parties together and just became best friends. And then our mums became best friends and my mum would always take me around to hers for dinner.

“When she turned 18 and got more into modelling, I started going out with her loads in London.”

Thea then opened up on the reason she joined the reality series and that’s because Lottie tends to get more attention from the blokes than she does.

“We do, but they don’t seem to come to me, they go to Lottie,” she explained.

“And if they do come over to me, they’re asking if she’s single. I’m the wing woman that never gets a look in.”

But Thea has the full support of Lottie being on The Love Trap, even though her model friend had wanted to know about it sooner.

“I literally FaceTimed her when I got out and she loved it, she thought it was hilarious. She was like, ‘Whoa, why didn’t you tell me?’,” Thea said.

The Love Trap premieres tonight and even though some of the Love Traps are engaged, they do not hold back when trying to convince David that they are for real.

In the eagerly anticipated first episode tonight, they flirt outrageously, with one telling him she wants to join him in bed, teasing: “I felt bad for you being on your own.”

More rivals join in the second episode as they take extra steps to win his affections in the “chemistry test”, each cuddling him affectionately in bed.

Even host Joel Dommett, as well as the producers, were stunned at how physical the women got with David – with some even rubbing his bare chest, licking his neck and nibbling his earlobe.

Joel, who fronts The Masked Singer, said he would be “absolutely livid” if he was one of the boyfriends watching at home.

He said: “We didn’t really think anything like a kiss, or even further was going to happen. My Lord, were we very wrong, they really went in.”

For those that are unlucky enough to be rejected by David, they are shockingly dropped through a trapdoor.

Fittingly, just like in The Masked Singer, Joel is kept in the dark about contestants, so he does not know which are single and which are faking it.

Viewers may recognise singleton David from Netflix’s hit series Too Hot to Handle.

The hunk didn’t manage to find love on that show, but affirmed that he’s hoping to find the lady of his dreams now.

“She has to be outgoing, and fun, and bubbly – I want a best friend, as well as a partner,” he said.

“And someone who’s driven, that they want to achieve in their life, and they want to go places.”

It turns Thea and model Lottie have been BFFs since they were teenagers
