The Masked Singer fans shocked as Bush Baby is revealed to be Cold Feet star John Thomson

THE Masked Singer fans were left shocked tonight when Cold Feet star John Thomson was revealed as Bush Baby.

The ITV singing competition saw the remaining eight celebrities take to the stage in their elaborate costumes.

After all eight had performed, the audiences voted Dragon and Bush Baby into the bottom two.

The judges then decided to send Bush Baby home, and desperately waited to see who was behind the mask.

When John revealed himself, the panel were shocked, particularly Jonathan Ross after he admitted they had worked together in the past.

Viewers at home were equally surprised, with one writing: “So bushbaby was John Thomson #MaskedSingerUK of course please release me was the fast show theme I’d forgotten that good clues.”

The judges had failed to guess who Bush Baby was

Another added: “Best surprise yet! #bushbaby#MaskedSingerUK.”

A third tweeted: “Oh my goodness would never have thought #BushBaby was @JohnnyThomson2 genius #MaskedSingerUK @MaskedSingerUK.”

Meanwhile a fourth was equally shocked, writing: “I never would have guessed John Thompson for bush baby #MaskedSingerUK.”

While John, who plays Pete Gifford in Cold Feet, had tried to throw the panel off with a fake Australian accent, other clues had been directed at his work on The Fast Show.

Last week saw former England manager Glenn Hoddle revealed as Grandfather Clock.

Earlier in the series, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Spice Girl Mel B and Martine McCutcheon were all unmasked.

At the end of the show, host Joel Dommett revealed next week’s episode will see a double elimination take place with two stars being unmasked and sent home from the competition.

The Masked Singer continues next Saturday, January 30 on ITV.
