The Masked Singer hit by ‘leak’ as ‘moles’ in the audience give away the mystery celebrities’ identities

THE Masked Singer UK has been hit by a ‘leak’ giving away the identities of the show’s mystery celebrities.

The next series of the show, adapted from a South Korean TV format, starts on Boxing Day.

The Masked Singer is hosted by Joel Dommett with Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Jonathan Ross on the panel

But there are reportedly fears that the whole show will be ruined as members of the studio audience have been letting slip which celebs are taking part.

“The new series was filmed in front of a studio audience,” an insider told the Daily Star.

“That means countless people saw the big reveals of who the celebrity contestants are.”

Audience members are told to keep the big reveals a secret and not tell anyone.

But now the show is a big hit, some people haven’t been able to resist “gossiping” and revealing spoilers.

The insider added: “If the names become public knowledge it will be a disaster.”

ITV refused to comment when contacted by The Celeb Report.

Meanwhile, the show has given us a sneak peak of two masks that will feature in the upcoming season.

Two of the new series’ characters have been revealed

The show was shot in September and has already wrapped up filming.

A glimpse of the first two characters to be featured in this series have been revealed.

One appears to be a green alien, and the other looks like a bizarre smiling sausage and chips.

Ten others, and all of the characters’ names are yet to be announced.

The singing competition is described as a “surreal and surprising guessing game that will see 12 famous faces compete to pull off the best performance, with their identity elaborately and imaginatively concealed behind the mask”.

Host Joel Dommett told Digital Spy that despite the circumstances, the new series “isn’t really that much different”

He added: “It’s such a huge production, and the fact they’ve managed to get it done in such an insane amount of time.”

“The only thing different is there are perspex divides between the panel. Pretty much everything is the same, the costumes are still absolutely mad, the suits are still mad, the panel is still crazy.

“If anyone thought they can’t step it up from the first series, they have. It feels huge. The names are insane, like really insane.”

Three of the panelists are returning – but not Ken Jeong

Rita Ora is returning to the Celebrity Sleuth panel for the wacky series.

Television presenter Davina McCall will also reprise her role on show.

Comedian Jonathan “Wossy” Ross will make a return alongside the ladies.

The one big change on the panel is that Ken Jeong won’t be returning to the show. He has been replaced by comedian Mo Gilligan.

Mo is a British stand up comedian, much loved for his cameos on Celebrity Gogglebox.

Series’ host Joel Dommett told Digital Spy: “He’s so good, brilliant. It was nice to have someone new in the mix. He threw out a lot of hilarious names, as did everyone.

“The panel is brilliant this year. We’re so lucky, everyone gets along – there are no crazy divas.”

Dommett added that the show has come at a perfect time.

He said: “It feels like a really weirdly important show,

“The world needs something really silly and stupid, that you can watch with the whole family. It feels [like] there’s a real excitement over Saturday night TV again.”
