The Queen leaves Platinum Jubilee fans in hysterics as viewers spot her reaction to Alan Titchmarsh’s speech

THE Queen left viewers of ITV’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration show in hysterics last night – with a simple shrug.

Cameras picked up the moment after Alan Titchmarsh delivered an incredibly gushing speech but she didn’t look remotely bothered.

Alan Titchmarsh’s emotional speech didn’t appear to hit the mark

Cameras showed the The Queen shrugging with a downturned mouth

Alan said: “For 70 years there’s been one constant heartbeat of this nation, and that heart belongs to Her Majesty The Queen.”

As the crowds applauded, cameras turned to the 96-year-old monarch who looked entirely unmoved by the gushing speech.

The Queen was seen turning to the man on her left and shrugging before turning back.

One fan watching the clip online tweeted: “What a boss! I love her.”

Another posted: “The queen shrugs as if she doesn’t understand why the fuss is all about. So cute.”

Others called the clip “excellent” and said it was the “perfect reaction”.

Phillip Schofield, who was the face of ITV’s coverage of the event called it “one of the greatest shrugs of all time”.

He jokingly added that she was thinking: “Yeah, yeah, whatever.”

Holly Willoughby added: “Quite right, quite right.”

But if The Queen didn’t seem overly moved by the speech, Alan himself seemed very emotional as he delivered his stirring speech.

He went on: “As commander in chief of the armed forces, head of the Commonwealth, leader of the national we are proud to live in, we sometimes forget that our head of state is actually a person who feels as we do.

“Enjoys the things we do. And is very much a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as well as being our monarch.

“But in 1953 on Coronation Day there was room only for pomp, pageantry and duty.”

The televised event had viewers glued to ITV thanks to celeb appearances from Hollywood legend Tom Cruise, Dame Helen Mirren, Katherine Jenkins and The Queen.

But viewers were appalled when producers made a huge mistake and captioned household name Martin Clunes as Damien Lewis.

The Doc Martin star was presenting a segment in the Gallop Through Time performance at the Windsor arena, when his name appeared as ‘Damian Lewis OBE’ instead.
