The Responder fans convinced they’re ‘watching the wrong show’ after spotting mind-boggling Trigger Point crossover

THE Responder viewers were left bewildered after they spotted a mind-boggling Trigger Point crossover during Monday night’s episode.

The five-part crime drama continued to explore Chris Carson’s struggles after the unconventional response officer retrieved some missing drugs.

Fans of both shows noticed that actor Warren Brown appears in both police thrillers

Chris was planning on handing the stash back to the police before an appointment with his therapist prompted him to offer the haul to Carl for £30,000.

The character, played by Martin Freeman, is trying to arrange the deal while holding together his crumbling marriage.

Kate Carson has drifted apart from her crisis-stricken husband and is having an affair with his former colleague, Ray Mullen.

Before he packs his bags, Chris is outraged to find out about the affair as Ray sees him as a corrupt cop, who wants him removed from his position.

Ray is played in the show by acclaimed actor Warren Brown, best known for starring in Doctor Who and Luther.

Confusingly, the 43-year-old is also starring in ITV‘s police drama Trigger Point, which is also currently being broadcast.

And it didn’t go unnoticed among viewers, too, with many of them taking to Twitter to air their thoughts on the actor appearing in both police thrillers.

Alongside an emoji of a confused face, one viewer penned: “Totally confused when The Responder’s Warren Brown also turned up in Trigger Point, but very nice to see him anyway. He’s like a bus”

Echoing their comments, someone else said: “Good as he is, seems a tad confusing to have Warren Brown playing significant characters in both Trigger Point and The Responder.”

While a third added: “Hang on? Am I watching The Responder or Trigger Point? I’m confused!”

The Responder continues tomorrow at 9pm on BBC One.
