What is The Sandman about?
The Sandman series is based on the 1989–1996 comic book series written by Neil Gaiman and published by DC Comics.
In 1916, Dream, the king of stories and one of the seven Endless, is captured in an occult ritual.
After being held captive for 105 years, in 2021 he escapes and endeavors to restore order to his kingdom of the Dreaming.
Netflix describes The Sandman as “a rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama, and legend are seamlessly interwoven, The Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic — and human — mistakes he’s made during his vast existence,” per THR.
The 11-episode series will be written by Gaiman, Allan Heinberg, and David S. Goyer.
It is scheduled to be released on August 5, 2022.
