The Talk fans slam show for taking 11 YEARS to invite fired host Holly Robinson Peete back on program

THE Talk fans have slammed the show for taking 11 years to invite fired host Holly Robinson Peete back on the daytime program.

The 57-year-old was let go from the talk show after just one season over a decade ago.

Holly Robinson Peete returned to The Talk for the first time in 11 years on Monday

She was one of the original hosts, alongside Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, and Leah Remini

The Talk launched in 2010 with original hosts Holly, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen, and Leah Remini.

Both Holly and Leah were fired after just one season, and the 21 Jump Street hadn’t returned to the stage until Monday’s episode of The Talk.

Fans blasted the show for taking so long to invite her back, as well as for letting her go in the first place.

The Talk shared promo images and videos announcing that Holly would be on the episode, and while fans were happy to see her back, they blasted the program for their treatment of her in the past.

One upset follower tweeted: “Really do miss her from her hosting days.”

Another told the show: “You all messed up letting her and Leah go..”

A third demanded: “Holly better have been treated RIGHT this time around…”

Holding a grudge in Holly’s honor, one fan said: “I would of never went on that show after what they did! Hell NO.”

“It’s about time Holly Peete was invited back to the Talk,” another said. “I don’t know whose bright idea it was to let her go but she was a fan favorite.”

Holly also shared a promo image announcing her new appearance on The Talk.

She wrote with it: “What??? 11 years after launching this show, I finally got invited back to @thetalkcbs.

“Things look a bit different.”

The actress added: “I had a blast!! Check it out today. Thank You for having me. #reunited #OGTalker”

Fans sent her some love and support in the replies.

“YESSSSSS!! Wish you were still on. You were great on that show,” one excited follower told her.

A second tweeted: “I still miss you and Leah on the show!!!! You know that I still haven’t watched it since, but I will have to today for you!”

Another wrote: “I’m glad that The Talk invited you back on the show!

“You were the main reason why I used to watch the show.

“Since your departure I only watched it off and on. Welcome back and good luck!”

Last year, in the wake of her former co-host Sharon’s controversial behavior on the show, Holly took to Twitter to open up about their time working together.

She wrote: “I’m old enough to remember when Sharon complained that I was too ‘ghetto’ for #theTalk…then I was gone.

“I bring this up now bc I was mortified watching the disrespectful condescending tone she took w/her co host who remained calm & respectful because…she HAD to.”

Holly’s tweet came after a fan wrote: “No one listened when Holly Robinson Peete called out Sharon Osbourne’s thinly veiled racism. And now it’s right here on Twitter for all to see. Believe Black women.”

In 2011, she had told Hollywood Reporter that she didn’t understand at the time why she was given the boot.

“Still to this day, I don’t know,” the Hallmark actress said. “I speculate in my mind, but in trying to move forward all I can say is, ‘Hey, is it because of my performance?’ I don’t think so.”

Soon after Holly’s tweet, while on Real Time with Bill Maher, Sharon labelled her ex co-stars as “disgruntled b****es” after their claims of racism.

The 21 Jump Street alum went back on Twitter to respond, writing: “So I’m told this lady told @billmaher that @LeahRemini & I are ‘disgruntled’.”

Hitting out at Bill, she added: “Didn’t watch – did Bill (who knows us both) push back or did he coddle & commiserate like w/ KellyAnne & Megyn?

“And finally #newrule: Let’s retire the word ‘woke’ bc unaccountability is exhausting.”
