PLENTY of people seemed to enjoy The View’s big anniversary celebration in the Bahamas, and guest co-host Ana Navarro-Cardenas is saying thanks.
This after many fans slammed the show for wasting money on the extravagant and luxurious location shoot.
The View celebrated its 25th anniversary last week, with a series of episodes from a posh Bahamas beach resort.
And while some fans slammed the cast and crew for flaunting their wealth as they are “struggling” in the real world, the tropical getaway was actually a big hit.
According to Nielsen, which tracks such data, The View ranked first in households during its trip, with more than 2.2 million viewers.
No other daytime talk show broke the two million mark.
The show’s first getaway episode, aired on June 27, was its most-watched telecast in three months.
On Twitter, the accomplishment did not go unnoticed by guest co-host Ana.
“Thanks for the View-ership!” she tweeted, adding a palm tree emoji
OBSTRUCTED VIEW
But not every viewer liked what they saw, especially after the ladies seemed to flaunt their all-expenses paid for vacation in the days before showtime.
Over the weekend, the hosts were seen on social media living it up at the beach, relaxing in shaded lounge chairs, enjoying decadent drinks, and tasting delicious foods.
Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and frequent guest Ana stayed at Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas, where rooms can top out at $14,000 a night.
FAN FURY
One fan sarcastically wrote on the TV personalities’ trip: “Awwww. How nice.
“Those who are struggling to put food on their tables and gas in their cars can see a vacation spot first hand on TV.”
Another commented: “Why do I want to see them having fun in some fabulous location I cannot go to?
“This trip In particular seems very out of touch and indulgent and completely out of sync given everything that is going on in America.”
And one fan tweeted: “This is a very awkward week for #TheView to be on a celebratory trip to the Bahamas.”
