This Morning fans baffled as Holly Willoughby still missing from the show for third week – as stand-in Rochelle returns

THIS Morning viewers have been left puzzled after Holly Willoughby failed to return to the show today.

Phillip Schofield, who previously said his regular co-host would be off for two weeks, was again hosting alongside Rochelle Humes for a third week running.

Some This Morning viewers had expected Holly Willoughby to return today

Some viewers were baffled, with one tweeting: “How long is this (supposed) two weeks without Holly going to be???”

Another wrote: “So the 2 week break for Holly has turned into 2 weeks and a day?”

Others asked: “Where’s Holly?”with one fuming on Twitter: “FFS thought Holly was back today.”

The extended break combined with the post-Christmas holidays mean the star has only hosted four episodes of This Morning all year.

Opening the show a fortnight ago, Phillip, 59, explained that Holly would be away for two weeks.

He told viewers: “Very busy show for you today. Rochelle is here, as you can see, keeping Holly’s seat warm.

“She’s off with the iceman. She’s making a show away at the moment. She’s off for two weeks.”

However, at the start of today’s show neither Phillip nor Rochelle made any reference to Holly’s continued absence.

It is thought the star – who has been hosting Dancing on Ice – will return to the ITV daytime programme midway through this week.

The Celeb Report revealed Holly would be taking an extended break from the hit series earlier this month.

A source explained: “Holly loved I’m a Celeb so much it gave her the confidence to strike out on her own and do more mainstream solo TV projects.

“Holly did an excellent job filling in for Ant and was one of the highlights of the show that year.

“She has high career ambitions and is starting the year as she means to go on.

“However, she absolutely loves This Morning and her on-screen partnership with Phillip, so isn’t going anywhere long-term.

“She’s just grateful ITV bosses are giving her the freedom to do her own projects.”

Holly and Wim Hof, whose show he will be fronting, hit it off when he appeared on This Morning in 2020.
