THIS Morning fans were left furious after today’s shopping segment advised them to spend hundreds at Christmas.
Viewers of the ITV show couldn’t believe it as presenter Georgina Burnett showed off this year’s most popular subscription presents.
As well as a subscription to a flower service, Georgina enticed viewers with wine, handbags and children’s books.
Showing off the flowers, Georgina said: “Amazingly it’s only £15 for a bunch like this,” before explaining that the subscription service offers weekly, monthly and bimonthly deals.
The presenter also showed off a subscription service for designer handbags, which started at £49 per month.
Commenting on the segment, host Holly Willoughby raved: “Very good”
Meanwhile, Phillip Schofield appeared less enthusiastic as he told viewers the subscription wine was an “acquired taste”.
Many viewers were left just as disappointed with the show’s gift suggestions.
Taking to Twitter, one said: “The prices of the items on This Morning are aimed at the top 10% of the population !! Come on get real thousands have had reduced income or lost their jobs !! Show something for them !! #thismorning.”
Another complained: “Do these people live in the real world?! We are ALL skint FFS.”
A third added: “You really need to know your audience! We’re all sat at home every morning, we certainly won’t be buying any of your ridiculously high priced gifts! Time to get real!”
A fourth added: “What a load of crap!! From £50 a month for wine !! This show needs to have a look at the real world ffs!!”
A fifth said: “£180 A MONTH ON WINE!? I CAN GET FIVE BOTTLES FOR LESS THAN A FIVER IN LIDL!”
Another wrote: “I think as a very rough estimate, it’ll set you back £802.44 but with the wine it’s probably over a grand or something. I zoned out due to how irrelevant, tone deaf and offensive that segment was #ThisMorning.”
