THIS Morning star Alison Hammond has announced a huge new job and told fans she’s “so excited” to get started.
The TV presenter is branching out away from the silver screen with her new venture, as she heads to the stage for a performance this year.

She is set to take part in a panto later this year
Alison, 48, who is best known for appearing on ITV daytime show This Morning, has revealed she will be starring in a panto.
The TV star – who rose to fame on Big Brother in 2002 – is set to take to the stage in December at the Birmingham Hippodrome.
Alison took to Instagram to share the exciting news she would be joining the cast of Jack and the Beanstalk with her followers.
“Now this is exciting,” she wrote. “The Birmingham Hippodrome have asked if I would like to be in their Panto this year in my home town.
“Er, let me think… YES PLEASE. I’m so excited to be joining the team in Jack and the Beanstalk. It’s going to be a Panto extravaganza.”
Her friends and fans flooded the comments section to gush over the new role, saying they were “excited” to be on the show.
“Oh yes it is! And I’ll be behind YOU,” Ruth Langsford penned, while a follower wrote: “Alison Hammond is the new Queen of Christmas.”
It comes after Alison kept This Morning viewers waiting two hours to reveal a “disappointing” announcement earlier this week.
After dropping clues throughout the ITV daytime show about her secret location, the presenter finally told fans she was on the set of Coronation Street – and fans were furious.
“I’m on the famous cobbles, the iconic street, to make a massive announcement. I’m star struck,” said Alison.
She then revealed This Morning will air live from the set of ITV soap Coronation Street ahead of the King’s Coronation.
Alison said: “This is the moment. I’ve got an invitation for you at home. You are cordially invited to attend This Morning’s Coronation Street party live from Coronation Street.
“How amazing is that. We’re going to be gate-crashing Coronation Street. And when I say gate-crashing I mean presenters and crew and the sofa’s coming.”
On May 5, Alison and her Friday co-star Dermot O’Leary will invade Coronation Street to host a special This Morning edition.
But viewers weren’t impressed they’d waited until 12pm to find out the announcement, after two-hours of build up.
