Ravi Gulati is making enemis this week
Sharon Watts could plot revenge against him and many Albert Square residents may be tempted to join her
Keanu Taylor puts himself in the firing line by accepting a dodgy job
1. The Square against Ravi
Keanu Taylor (played by Danny Walters) is playing a dangerous game this week as he desperately clings on to a life of crime, lured in by the prospect of big money.
The hunk recently accepted a job from Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) in hopes to make money for Albie’s christening.
But Keanu has bitten off more than he can chew by getting involved with the Walford gangster as it’s all set to spiral out of control this week on BBC One.
On the morning of Albie’s christening, Keanu is conflicted until he gets his nose put out of joint by the flash present Martin Fowler (James Bye) and Zack Hudson (James Farrar) have bought Albie.
He soon makes an excuse to slope off and meet them at the church as Ravi gives him the details for the job.
Keanu learns he’ll be transporting drugs in white goods but delays soon make him late for the christening, prompting him to park outside and rush into the church.
Matters go from bad to worse for him when the van alarm goes off and Keanu rushes outside to check with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) in tow.
Unfortunately for him, the police are also waiting to see what is happening and Keanu is arrested on the spot for intent to supply, leaving Sharon reeling in shock.
Keanu’s mother Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) pleads with Sharon to do something as he remains at the police station.
The EastEnders stalwart eventually calls a solicitor as Karen insists to everyone her son would never go anywhere near drugs.
Back at The Vic, both her and Sharon defend Keanu with a panicked Ravi overhearing them.
Keanu finally calls Sharon and pleads his innocence – but DS Barnes soon offers him a way out if he’s willing to rat on his bosses.
All hell breaks loose when he arrives at The Vic and Ravi collars him, demanding to know if he grassed them up.
Keanu swears he kept quiet but Ravi isn’t willing to hear him out.
The criminal makes a secretive phone call… and catches up with Keanu to take revenge.
An ambulance is called when Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) finds Keanu and a distraught Sharon gets to the scene.
Sharon’s mind races while in the hospital waiting room and she speculates that Ravi is responsible for it all but Phil isn’t as convinced
Sharon is ready for revenge and warns Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) that she could get the police on to Ravi and his dastardly deeds.
With the many alliances she has made in Walford, from Linda Carter to Phil Mitchell and Kat Slater, could Sharon get everyone to turn their backs on Ravi Gulati?
Ravi has burned bridges all around him but could Keanu’s assault drive him out of the Square altogether?
Will Nish turn on him?
What is Reiss keeping from Sonia?
2. Resident’s double life revealed
In recent months, Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) has been on a cloud as she gets to know her new flatmate and love interest Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman).
But the duped nurse may be in for a rude awakening as Reiss is keeping a massive secret from her.
This week, Sonia is getting ready to celebrate her 38th birthday and she’s over the moon when Reiss plans a big party.
Thrilled to be made to feel so special, she tells Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) that she hasn’t been cared for like this for a long time.
However, Reiss soon returns and starts talking about the party… making it clear he’ll be celebrating King Charles’ coronation, not Sonia’s birthday.
The King’s coronation is the talk of the Square next week as residents get ready to celebrate His Majesty.
Once the penny drops, Sonia gets increasingly fed up with Reiss’ coronation party planning, especially when Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) makes a big romantic gesture for Kathy, weeks after their relationship seemed to be hitting the rocks.
Sonia opens up to Rocky, who suggests that she and Reiss need to get to know one another better.
Eventually, Rocky speaks out and clues Reiss in about why Sonia is fed up with him – prompting the new resident to go overboard to celebrate her birthday.
Rocky then uncovers a secret about Reiss as there’s more to him than meets the eye.
Off-screen, viewers have speculated that Reiss, much like Rocky, may have a wife away from Albert Square.
Could Reiss have another woman in his life?
Will Sonia find out?
Avery died of terminal cancer, leaving his sons in a financial predicament
3. Huge change for Finlay and Felix
Everybody in Walford gets into a celebratory mood ahead of King Charless III’s coronation.
Billy Mitchell (portrayed by Perry Fenwick) is at the centre of everything as the Square bears the Coronation emblem.
But with Linda Carter struggling to get into the happy mood as she remains scarred by her husband Mick’s disappearance at sea, the market trader makes it his mission to convince her to host The Vic party.
This leaves him with the idea of a “Royal Walkabout” for the kids of Walford and the Bakers love the idea.
The family decide to run with it, especially when Finlay Baker (Ashley Byam) gets Avery sportscar running.
He gets the shock of a lifetime when the car begins to splutter and he soon makes a life-changing discovery.
Viewers have recently taken to social media pointing out that, since their father Avery’s unexpected death, the siblings have been standing on the side-lines and have not been involved in any big storyline.
“I do wonder what the plan was/is with Felix and Finlay in EastEnders because they’re just both sort of drifting around with no storylines. Why introduce them? Avery was the most interesting character and they killed him off”, one soap fan notably complained.
Could Finlay’s discovery lead him and Felix down a surprising path?
Will Avery’s past be at the centre of their next storyline?
EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
