But could it reopen old wounds?

1. Feud reignited

Soap legend Lucy Benjamin is reprising her role in the BBC One show after more than three years away as Lisa Fowler comes back to Walford with a vengeance – and she’s not alone.

It all begins when Lisa arrives back in the Square with Peggy and the urge to make Keanu Taylor (played by Danny Walters) pay for what he did to her daughter Louise.

Regular fans of the London-based drama will remember that Keanu cheated on Louise with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), fathering both of their babies around the same time, Albie and Peggy.

Keanu’s death was later staged as Ben Mitchell was hellbent on revenge and the hunk was filmed being threatened with a gun before seemingly being shot.

Martin Fowler and Linda Carter teamed up to make Keanu’s death look realistic and helped him run away from the vengeful Mitchells.

Soon after, Louise, Peggy and Lisa left Albert Square for Portugal, terrified of the repercussions of Keanu’s apparent death.

Next week, it’s evident that money’s a problem for Lisa when she runs off to avoid paying a cab fare.

She bumps into Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy), who invites her for a coffee, and she explains that things are rough in Portugal with Louise – the young mother has gone off the rails.

Meanwhile, Sharon is excited when Keanu offers to book the wedding venue of her dreams and gives him money for a deposit.

After an awkward run-in with former flame Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), Lisa plans to lie low until she can confront Keanu.

Her plan is foiled when Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) lets slip that Lisa and Peggy are in town.

Keanu rushes over to see his daughter and is determined to put things right but he’s completely unprepared for Lisa’s financial demands.

Later on, Sharon and Keanu excitedly prepare to introduce their son Albie to Peggy.

Phil can’t believe Lisa is letting Keanu anywhere near their granddaughter.

Sharon is disappointed to hear there was a problem with Keanu’s bank transfer, and the venue has let their date go.

Keanu then quizzes Reiss about how to get money out of Taylor’s Autos fast as he needs cash.

After a lovely visit with Peggy, Keanu asks Lisa if he can spend more time with her.

He’s horrified when Lisa lays out her financial demands, and he turns to Reiss for help again.

Unfortunately for him, Sharon isn’t happy about Keanu’s attitude to money and she decides to blindside him.

Keanu is hurt and angry that she doesn’t trust him, but Sharon’s adamant that she must protect herself.

This only leads him to resolve to get his own money.

Viewers of the London-based drama have seen Keanu and Phil getting along for the first time in year, particularly as the hunk finally gave Sharon Watts the proposal and ring of her dreams.

But with tension seemingly put to rest, soap fans are convinced things will be shaken up once more between both men as Keanu grows more desperate to see his daughter Peggy.

Could Lisa reignite the deadly feud between Phil and Keanu?

Could they come to blows with potentially fatal consequences?

Theo is keeping a massive secret

2. Stalker danger for Stacey

Meanwhile, Freddie Slater’s former teacher Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis) rocked up Walford earlier this year as part of the lad’s ADHD diagnosis storyline.

Since then, the rest of the Slater family have taken a liking to him, particularly Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) to whom he gave brand new trainers.

Viewers immediately deemed him inappropriate and were convinced he was too good to be true.

They were proven right when it was revealed that Theo is Stacey’s Secret Cam client.

The creepy character is concealing his identity on the website and asked Stacey to show her face for some extra cash – which she accepted.

But the bap van owner has no idea Theo’s intentions aren’t as pure as he may make them out to be – and the chemistry between them continues to grow

This week, Stacey’s mother Jean (Gillian Wright) tries to play matchmaker between Stacey and Theo.

Stacey downplays her interest in Theo, but she obviously likes him.

Later on, however, Stacey has misgivings over arranging a date with Theo, but when Martin disapproves, she doubles down on the plan.

She meets Theo at Walford East, and things are a bit awkward – Stacey isn’t feeling a connection.

Could things backfire on Stacey as Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) tries to push her and Theo together, unaware of the lack of chemistry between them?

Rocky makes a risky move this week

3. Another Christmas whodunnit clue

Speaking of love being in the air – Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) and Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) are getting ready to tie the knot.

But as Christmas approaches, many fans have wondered how the Prince Albert owner would be involved in the upcoming murder mystery teased in a grisly flashforward earlier this year.

Kathy is one of the six Walford women who could be blamed for the murder of an unknown man, which viewers are expecting to be Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry).

The dots are finally connecting this week.

Kathy asks her grandson Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) to infiltrate Rocky’s stag night.

Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) and Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) tease Rocky about the epic do while Bobby asks to join in.

Unfortunately for him, the lad gets shut down by the stags.

Bobby soon turns to Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) for help and she hoodwinks Rocky into inviting Bobby.

Later on, Rocky asks Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) to help him throw a surprise hen party for Kathy, after her son Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) jokingly tells him that she’ll be expecting him to.

Meanwhile, after a heart-to-heart with Ben over some wedding jitters, Kathy decides to take control of her own hen night.

Both events finally begin in later scenes with the boys in fancy dress and high spirits.

Mitch and Harvey are determined to ditch Bobby, knowing he is Kathy’s spy, eager to get up to mischief.

At The Albert, Elaine makes comments that accidentally hurt Kathy – but what could they be?

The stags eventually end up at Sharon Watts’ Boxing Den, where they put their plans into action.

But things go terribly wrong when Bobby rumbles their moment.

Matters go from bad to worse as the stags have a poker game arranged by Nish Panesar, where the stakes get out of control.

Rocky can’t resist Nish’s goading, putting his future happiness on the line.

Could this be a reason for Kathy to lash out against the businessman?

EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
