TIPPING Point viewers were all in uproar after a recent episode of the show saw a winning contestant react in a rather strange way.
On Wednesday evening’s instalment of the ITV game show, contestants Elizabeth, Richard, Jo and Av were battling it out to win the £10,000 prize fund.
Beating the three contestants in front of him, Richard played a tactical game and booked himself a place in the last round to face the machine.
And the customer service assistant’s luck didn’t stop there, as he managed to scoop the coveted token £10,000 token in style.
As the counter streamed down, host Ben Shephard encouraged it along and exclaimed: “That’s the one, surely. Surely that’s the one.
“It’s been sitting there for quite a while now, Richard.”
Keeping his cards close to his chest, Richard replied: “It has. Come on, come on.”
And perhaps it was Ben and Richard’s encouragement that helped the counter on its way, as he bagged the top prize on the show.
“How does that feel?” asked an excitable Ben, grinning from ear to ear.
Letting out a half-smile, Richard replied in a monotone voice and said: “That feels brilliant – I’m so pleased.”
After his big win, fans of Tipping Point claimed that Richard looked disinterested, with many jumping on Twitter to air their thoughts.
Alongside a GIF of Steve Carell on The Office looking bored, one fan commented: “This is Richard’s celebration after winning £10,000.”
Similarly, another viewer posted a picture of the Queen looking straight-faced, and penned: “Yay. He won the top prize.”
Meanwhile, a third fan sarcastically said: “Richard will burst a blood vessel with that demonstration of excitement for winning.”
Tipping Point airs weekdays on ITV at 4pm.
