TOP Boy star Amar Koomz has hit back at critics after he was brutally trolled for his acting efforts in the newly-released second season.
The British crime drama returned for its fourth season on Netflix last Friday and has gone down an absolute treat with fans – apart from one fine detail.
The series is set on the fictional Summerhouse estate in Hackney, London, and revolves around the fictional drug gang and its leaders.
Fans went wild as the show returned, but many reacted online to the performance of Amar in what is his first official acting role on screen.
Kumar, better known by his stage name “Koomz”, is a British singer-songwriter, rapper and YouTuber from Brixton.
The 22-year-old, however, has become the target of online trolls who have slammed the online personality for his acting skills.
Alongside an emoji of a laughing face, one person penned: “Do me a favour and never do drama or acting again.”
Echoing their comments, someone else said: “Seeing Amar Koomz in Top Boy has ruined my day. Man can’t act.”
While a third added: “Amar Koomz getting roasted for his aids performance in Top Boy is too funny.”
Amar also took to Twitter to defend himself, adding: “I’ve never done drama or acting before in my life, everyone’s got to start somewhere.”
Top Boy was originally on Channel 4, but was cancelled after 2 seasons.
It wasn’t until Drake – now an executive producer on the show – became a fan that led to its revival and Netflix became the show’s new home.
Season four sees the return of Ashley Walters, Kane Robinson, Micheal Ward and their expanding drug empire.
Top Boy is available to stream on Netflix now.
