Viewers slammed the episode and claimed it was the ‘worst so far’

It saw Freddie sample the brutal, full-contact motorsport of F1 stock cars.

Chris got to grips with Mercedes’ ‘F1 car for the road’, the fearsomely complicated AMG One.

Paddy, meanwhile, took a ride in the luxurious new Range Rover.

However, fans were less than impressed with the latest episode and took to social media to air their frustration.

“Anyone else had the feeling that this series of Top Gear has been a bit dull so far? #TopGear,” said one fan.

Another said: “Will there be any more stuff on #topgear tonight or is just Fred in his stock car?”

“Worst episode so far dull as f***,” said a third.

While a fourth posted: “I wish they’d go back in the studio and have celeb guests on and test drive new cars, super cars or just everyday normal ones. have stig put them round the track aswell.”

Top Gear, now in its 33rd series, was originally presented by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

However, the trio departed the programme when the Beeb decided not to renew Clarkson’s contract following an incident during filming.

They all moved to Amazon’s streaming platform Prime where they present The Grand Tour.

Since then a few famous faces have fronted the long-running series, including radio star Chris Evans and Friends’ Matt LeBlanc.
