Towie legend sparks rumours of return over 10 years after quitting and claiming ‘toxic’ show ‘turned him into a monster’

KIRK Norcross says he would love to return to The Only Way is Essex, saying that the show was “like home” to him.

The reality star famously quit the show in 2013 after he branded it “toxic” and refused to play a “character”.

However, Kirk, who now runs KN Jet Services in Essex, has said that he would like to make a return.

Speaking on A County Down Under podcast, Kirk said: “I would like, no you know what, I would love to try to go back on The Only Way Is Essex.

“I really would. That was home to me, not just the filming, the production team, the soundmen, the camera crew, like when they mic you up, that little conversation with them.”

“Because I never watched reality, even when I was on The Only Way Is Essex, I never watched it.

“I’m not on it to watch myself, I just liked… who doesn’t want to be on cameras and bright lights and everything like that you know?

“It was good, I could be the flamboyant Kirk that I liked to be.”

The 34-year-old, who appeared on Celebrity Big Brother, told The Celeb Report Online the “toxic” side of fame caused him to step away from the red carpet.

“I realise working up a ladder clearing drains and jet-washing driveways isn’t as glamorous as being on the telly.

“But I wouldn’t swap things for the world. I am so glad. I am away from that life now. When I was on Towie I was known everywhere I went.

“I used to buy Ferarris, expensive watches and designer jeans — now I’m happy with a £20 pair from Topman.

“There is so much bulls*** going on when you live your life in the public eye. It can be toxic and you get surrounded by people who are fake and just hangers-on.

“And it can be a very brutal environment. Now I get up, go to work, keep my head down and earn a living with a bigger smile on my face.”

Kirk lost his dad Mick Norcross to suicide in 2021 after he fell into severe debt.

Tragically he told Kirk “I’m better offing myself” before his body was discovered in a wine cellar in Bulphan, Essex.

The businessman, 57, had posted a cryptic message on Twitter hours earlier, which read: “At the end remind yourself that you did the best you could. And that is good enough.”

A source close to the show told The Celeb Report, however, that no talks have happened. “Kirk may want to go back but there are no plans right now and he hasn’t met with bosses. That said, you never know what could happen in the future.”

The Celeb Report has approached a Towie spokesperson for comment.
