TOWIE Star Reveals Turning Down I'm A Celebrity and Strictly Come Dancing Despite Lucrative Offers

TOWIE star Amy Childs recently made a surprising revelation, sharing that she turned down offers to appear on both I'm A Celebrity and Strictly Come Dancing, despite the substantial financial incentives.

From TOWIE to Reality Stardom

Amy Childs rose to fame in 2010 as an original cast member on the popular ITVBe programme, The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE). However, after a year, she decided to explore other opportunities and has since appeared on several other reality shows.

Big Offers on the Table

During an interview on the Saving Grace podcast, Amy disclosed that she received numerous offers for other reality shows while on TOWIE. These included the chance to participate in the jungle on I'm A Celebrity, showcase her dance moves on Strictly Come Dancing, and enter the Big Brother house, among others.

Amy explained her decision-making process, stating, "The stuff I got offered doing TOWIE, you're just never going to get offered that stuff ever again. So I went with Big Brother because I thought it was more me."

Why the Jungle Was a No-Go

When asked about her decision to decline I'm A Celebrity, Amy admitted, "I could not [do] the jungle. I would have been absolutely terrible." She ultimately chose Big Brother because it allowed her to maintain her personal style and be herself.

Amy's Post-TOWIE Journey

After leaving TOWIE, Amy participated in the eighth series of Celebrity Big Brother, where she finished in fourth place. She then went on to have her own show, It's All About Amy, on Channel 5. She also appeared on shows such as Sooty, The Jump, Celebrity Dinner Date, and Celebs Go Dating.

Most recently, Amy filmed a new show called Amy Childs: The Twin Life. In addition to her successful television career, she rejoined the cast of TOWIE in 2020 and has become a regular fixture on the series.

Family Life and Future Plans

Amy, who started dating her fiancé Billy Delbosq in 2021, welcomed twins with him. She is also a mother to two children from previous relationships.
