Tracy Beaker star looks completely different on GMB as she opens up on new Netflix role

A CHILDREN’S TV favourite stunned Good Morning Britain fans as they made a glam appearance on the ITV breakfast show.

Actress Amy-Leigh Hickman, 25, looked worlds away from Carmen Howle – the feisty character she played on BBC series Tracy Beaker.

The Ackley Bridge actress cut a glam figure on GMB with her hair styled into sleek waves

Based on Jacqueline Wilson’s 1991 cult book series, the BBC hit followed orphan Tracy and her pals in the ‘Dumping Ground’ children’s home.

In the adaptation, the Ackley Bridge star played a leading role in a host of plotlines, including an array of spats and reaction to her mum’s re-marriage.

In the show, she wore her brunette locks in a sweet plait, often adorned with flowers.

She favoured bright colours and often flashed an adorable smile.

Yet on her Good Morning Britain appearance, Amy-Leigh cut a super glam figure with her darker glossy raven locks styled into waves.

Gone is the side parting and flowers clips, while the actress chose a sophisticated nude blazer and top for her interview outfit.

Amy-Leigh finished off her look with glam gold hoop earrings.

Former Labour MP Ed Balls, who was fronting GMB, couldn’t hide his praise for the kids TV show, and gushed: “It’s one of the most important pieces of TV there has been,” before referencing its focus on inclusivity and social issues.

Amy-Leigh, clearly touched, replied: “That’s so lovely thank you so much.”

She was on the show to promote her new role in season 4 of Netflix thriller, You.

She told how she appears in the first episode of the new series and initially thought it was “another show with the same name,” in her audition – rather than the Penn Badgley hit.

The season has been split into two parts, with the first part set to premiere on the streaming giant today.

The second portion of the series will roll out next month, on March 9, 2023.

Fans were happy to see the child actress back on TV, with one writing: “Woo @AmyLHickman on #GMB lovely and amazing actress and had the privilege of meeting her.”

One then joked: “Tracy beaker, the height of culture to Ed.”
