Vernon Kay gives biggest hint yet that he would do Strictly – but there’s a twist

VERNON Kay has revealed whether he will ever take part in Strictly Come Dancing – which is hosted by his wife Tess Daly.

Fans think a stint on the dancefloor is long overdue for Vernon – but would he dance in the ballroom?

The presenter told The Celeb Report’s TV mag: “Do you know what? I get asked this question a lot and the truth is, I’ve never been asked.

“I don’t know what I’d do if they asked me. I think I’d like to do the Christmas special, that’s an easy win – you do one episode and it’s only a day of dancing practice.

“But the series is a huge investment. I guess because I did I’m A Celebrity and I’ve done The Masked Singer, I’m like: ‘Do I want to do another one of those kinds of shows?’ I’m not too sure.”

But the 48-year-old doesn’t shy away from dancing on a night out as he shared the perfect night for him would involve going clubbing with his wife Tess, 53.

“We enjoy ourselves when we go out, we both like a dance floor,” smiles the former model.

“Tess and I were both brought up in The Hacienda [a famous nightclub and music venue in Manchester in the 80s and 90s] and that kind of thing, so we have very similar music tastes and we both like letting our hair down.

“People do come up and ask for a selfie, or say hello, which is a compliment, because it means they’ve invested their time in watching you or listening to you.”

So what’s next or Vernon?

He mentioned he has ample amount of meetings coming up and his diary is full of This Morning dates and Radio 2 Breakfast Show dates.

Despite Vernon’s busy schedule, the father of two hopes to spend more time with his family and friends.

He has two daughters Phoebe, 18, and Amber, 13, with his wife Tess.

The couple will mark their 20^th wedding anniversary in September.
