Victoria has since been enjoying single life, even allowing herself an evening out with Ethan Anderson (Emile John), who has also been recently discarded by his own other half.
However, one couple in the eponymous Dales are happier than ever and decide to break some big news to their friend Victoria.
Coming up on ITV, Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) are delighted to reveal they are engaged during a chat with Victoria in the Hide.
But Victoria is left shaken by the announcement – how will Amy and Matty react?
As viewers will recall, Amy spontaneously popped the question amid her plans to get sole custody of her son Kyle Winchester.
Matty accepted although he was initially hesitant as he feared this was all a ploy to help Amy strengthen her custody claim.
She eventually made it clear to Matty that her intentions were genuine and she truly wanted to tie the knot with him.
Before long, Victoria opens up to the couple next week and reveals she had an encounter with a man on her recent night out with Ethan.
The meeting, during which it became clear the man was clearly interest in Victoria despite her wanting to set him up with Ethan, triggered her past trauma over her rapist Lee Posner.
Victoria was sexually assaulted by the latter following a night out on the town in 2019 and the attack resulted in the birth of her son Harry.
In later scenes, Ethan keeps an eye on his friend Victoria and advises her to move on and find someone new.
But how will Victoria cope with the lingering pain from her attack, four years after it occurred?
Will she ever overcome her trauma?
However, Matty’s announcement could also trigger some forgotten feelings from Victoria as she was once married to the hunk’s half-brother Adam.
Adam left the village in 2018 after taking the blame for the death of Emma Barton in an attempt to protect his mother Moira.
Victoria tried to track him down but was heartbroken when she found out he had fled to Hungary where he met another woman.
Could she be shaken by her friend’s engagement for her unresolved feelings for Adam?
