Vinnie Jones has secured a significant role in the iconic TV show spin-off after his success in The Gentleman. The 59-year-old actor, known for his tough guy roles in Hollywood, will be making his stage debut in Only Fools and Horses The Musical.

From The Gentleman to Only Fools and Horses

Vinnie Jones, who portrayed Geoff Seacombe in the Netflix gangster film, will take on the character of Danny Driscoll in the musical adaptation. He will join the cast at London’s Hammersmith Eventim Apollo from 17 December to 5 January for 28 performances only.

Excitement and Legacy

Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Vinnie stated, "I’ve always been a fan of Only Fools and Horses, and when my longtime friend Phil McIntyre called me up and said he was interested in me playing the role of Danny Driscoll, I told him to count me in."

He further added, "The director C. Jay Ranger and her creative team are great, and I’m excited to contribute to the legacy of the show."

The Musical Journey

Only Fools and Horses The Musical, based on the classic TV series, features original music by Paul Whitehouse, Jim Sullivan, John Sullivan, and Chas Hodges. The production, directed by Caroline Jay Ranger, stars Whitehouse, Sam Lupton, and Tom Major in lead roles.

Continuing the Legacy

Following the London performances, the musical will embark on a UK tour, visiting over 30 cities before concluding in Dublin in June 2025. Known for blending classic scenes from the TV show with new songs, the musical promises to bring the Trotters’ antics to life.

Reprising his role in The Gentlemen sequel

Despite initial concerns from fans, Vinnie Jones will be returning for the sequel of The Gentlemen. While his name was missing from the cast list, it was later revealed that Vinnie will indeed reprise his role in the upcoming season.

A telly insider shared, "He always wanted to be part of the programme. The problem was that he is so busy making new TV shows that it was proving difficult fitting in all his work."
