Waterloo Road Legend Expecting First Child
Katie Griffiths, best known for her role as Chloe Grainger in the popular BBC One school drama Waterloo Road, has announced that she is expecting her first child. The happy news comes just five months after her wedding to long-term partner Matthew Wardle.

Katie took to social media to share the announcement, posting a photo of her blossoming baby bump while wearing a black crop top. In the picture, her furry friend can be seen sitting next to a book titled 'How to Still Get Treats When The Humans are Having a Baby'. The caption read, "Baby Wardle coming May 2024."

Upon hearing the news, Katie's fans flooded her social media with congratulations and well wishes. Many expressed their joy and reminisced about her time on Waterloo Road, where she played the sassy teenager Chlo Grainger.
A Return to Waterloo Road
Katie originally joined the cast of Waterloo Road at just 17 years old in 2006. She played Chlo Grainger for four series before leaving in 2009. However, she reprised the role in the 2023 reboot of the show, much to the delight of fans. Reflecting on her return, Katie said, "It's been wonderful. It feels like coming back but also everything is different."
A Diverse Acting Career
Aside from Waterloo Road, Katie has had a diverse acting career. She guest-starred in Casualty and played Glenda in Rock and Chips. She even auditioned for major roles in Hollywood films such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Into The Woods. Her last TV role was in the popular BBC soap, Doctors.
