Lauren played Mika on Waterloo Road for two years

Lauren took on the role of the school girl in series one and her alter-ego stayed on our screens until episode 20 of series three.

As fans will remember, her mum Izzie Redpath was a drama teacher at Waterloo Road, which her and her sister Chlo attended.

Her world came crashing down when her mum was stabbed by Jed Seddon in series two.

To make matters worse, Mika’s best mate Leigh-Ann Galloway also started online bullying her.

And to add the cherry on top of the cake, she later finds out that her boyfriend Brett Aspinall cheated on her with her sister.

After that, her alter-ego went through a bit of a rebellious stage, but quickly snapped out of it.

At the end of series three Mika left Waterloo Road to study at university.

After her stint on the BBC drama, Lauren landed a number of roles in other TV programmes.

She’s played Hayley Scott in Blue Murder, Hannah Sharpe in Holby City and Sophie Stanyard in Doctors.

Lauren returned to popular medical drama Holby and acted as Chantelle Lane from 2011 to 2013 and again in 2016.

More recently, in 2018 she played Hilde in BBC’s The Dumping Ground and Kelly Jones in ITV’s Unforgotten.

In 2019 she starred in Coronation Street as Jane Bestwick.

Lauren has kept out of the limelight in recent years, but does have over 5k followers on Instagram.
