WATERLOO Road star Carl Au has been spotted looking unrecognisable eight years after leaving the drama series.
The actor joined the show a decade ago as bad boy Barry, seeing himself at the centre of a dramatic trafficking storyline.
Carl, 34, left Waterloo Road a year after his debut after a tense story seeing his character Barry arrested for human trafficking.
The star stayed in the role for a year, where he was seen looking like a young teenager – but he now looks unrecognisable from the role.
Carl’s social media sees him frequently travelling the world – posing for snaps with longer dark hair and a neatly trimmed stubble.
A far cry from his time spent in a school uniform in the programme, the stylish actor has been spotted smiling in a number of luxurious locations.
Carl started his career as a teenager, where he starred in a number of stag shows including Copperfield, Her Benny and Robin Hood.
He appeared at the 2009 Brit Awards as one of the back-up dancers for the Pet Shop Boys, and also performed alongside Lady Gaga.
Carl was cast for Waterloo Road in 2012 – and after appearing in two series, he finally quit the drama in October 2013.
He appeared in Let’s Dance For Comic Relief in the same year, before turning his attentions back to the stage for a number of shows.
His TV appearances have also included Casualty and Doctors.
Carl spent the first year of the coronavirus pandemic turning his attentions to a new venture, as he released his debut single Uncle.
He isn’t the only Waterloo Road star that is now unrecognisable – as Lauren Drummond has been spotted looking totally different.
The actress, 33, is best known for playing Mika Grainger in the BBC programme between 2006 to 2008.
Lauren took on the role of the school girl in series one and her alter-ego stayed on our screens until episode 20 of series three.
After her stint on the BBC drama, Lauren landed a number of roles in other TV programmes.
She’s played Hayley Scott in Blue Murder, Hannah Sharpe in Holby City and Sophie Stanyard in Doctors.
Lauren returned to popular medical drama Holby and acted as Chantelle Lane from 2011 to 2013 and again in 2016.
