WARNING: Contains spoilers from Grace series one and two.

What happened in Grace series one?

Well what a grisly tale series one was.

It all started with what seemed like a stag do prank that went wrong, when property developer Michael was buried alive by his friends as a joke.

But things took a turn for the worst when the four men who left the groom in the shallow grave, were then killed themselves in a car crash.

This meant Michael was trapped underground and no one knew he was there – or did they?

Detective Superintendent Roy Grace joined the case and started to unravel a much more sinister plot, than just a joke gone wrong.

It turned out his best mate, and business partner, Mark, who didn’t go to the stag do, actually had orchestrated him being buried alive so that he could kill him, steal all his money and run off with his bride-to-be Ashley.

But little did he know, that he was being double-crossed himself by Ashley and she was working with an Irish man called Vic, who then killed Mark.

It then turned out Ashley and Vic had taken Michael out of the grave and left him to die in a derelict house.

The pair then planned to flee the country, but when they realised Grace was on to them, Ashley killed Vic and tried to pretend he had been attacking her.

Grace didn’t believe a word she said and she soon confessed to Michael’s kidnap and wanting to run off with his money.

In the end, Michael was found alive and rushed to the hospital.

What happened in Grace series two?

When a body is dredged up from the seabed with both of his eyes removed, it’s clear that foul play was involved.

Glenn later finds two more bodies on a search of the surrounding waters, both with organs removed.

Grace informs the team that they must be dealing with some kind of trade in human organs.

Upon further investigation, they soon discover that there is an operation going on the south coast where migrants have crossed the channel and are being promised a better way of life if they pass medical tests.

But the tests are actually to determine whether they will be a good match for those looking for organ donations.

If they pass they are killed and their organs are harvested.

The scheme was planned by Joe Baker, who had a big criminal record and was believed to be the British end of a Romanian sex trafficking ring.

Working alongside him was Julia Giroux, a Swiss-French woman who was suspected to have links to organised crime in Colombia.

It doesn’t stop there as many others were involved including Jim Telby, the owner and skipper of the boat Glenn went on to search for bodies.

Surgeon Noah Cobb was replaced after his accident with Dr Roger Gunnislake who had been involved in the world of organ trafficking for some time.

Throughout the series, we follow Layla Bakchurts, who is willing to do whatever it takes to find a new liver for her daughter Callie to save her life.

Callie collapse when she finds out where her liver will be coming from and the police frantically search for her having arrested those involved in the scheme.

As this is happening, Layla receives a message from Callie’s father Marcus saying the NHS has found a suitable match for Callie.

However, the plot thickens when the liver turns out to be Noah Cobb, the scheme’s initial surgeon who went into a coma following a motorcycle accident.

While viewers don’t see the results, medics say they are hopeful and it seems like Callie has been saved.

As for her mother, she is expected to receive a custodial sentence for attempting to illegally purchase a liver.

The final episode of season two saw Grace deciding to have Sandy declared legally dead.

However, as Grace and Cleo are on a lunch date, he received a call from an old friend in Germany who says he thinks he saw Sandy out there alive.

Grace then made the executive decision to hang up the call and continue to focus on his date.

But how long will be able to ignore this?

When is Grace season three on TV?

The third series of Grace will premiere on ITV1 at 8 pm on March 19.

It will continue to air on March 26, and conclude on April 2.

After each episode has aired you can watch them on the ITV Hub.
