What happened to Below Deck’s Captain Lee?
Following his absence from Below Deck’s ninth season, Captain Lee came back for the show’s 10th edition.
However, he surprised the other crewmates when he announced he was leaving again because of health complications from his nerve issues.
During the fifth episode, the Stud of the Sea confessed: “My injury, it’s getting worse. On the left side of my body, I don’t feel anything.
“I expected a lot more progress than I’m experiencing. The most frustrating part about it is, I can’t do a god d**n thing about it, and it’s hard.
“The pain’s getting worse, not better. I owe it to my crew to do right by them. They expect that out of me.”
Captain Lee further said: “There comes a point if a captain is really being objective, he should be putting the best interests of his crew first because that’s your primary responsibility.”
He shared with chef Rachel Hargrove and the rest of his crewmates: “This has probably been one of the most humbling experiences of my life.
“As you guys know, I’ve been struggling with my mobility, and it’s been hard.
“I’ve let you guys down and for that, I apologize. So I’ve made a decision to leave the boat.”
Captain Lee’s short-lived season 10 comeback follows his season-long absence from the program’s ninth edition.
How much does Captain Lee and the Below Deck cast make?
According to Refinery 29, the cast of Below Deck makes quite a hefty salary for doing their jobs on “yachties”.
The outlet reports that on a yacht the size of the My Seanna, a second and third stewardess earns an average of about $5,000 per month.

For his position as head of the ship’s operations, Captain Lee is reported to rake in a yearly salary of $210,000
A chief stewardess brings in around $5,500 to $6,000 per month, and the chef on the boat could make about $7,000-$10,000 a month, depending on experience and training.
The deckhands usually make around $3,500-$4,500 a month, while a bosun would make a little bit more at approximately $5,000 a month.
However, that’s not including tips the whole crew receives from guests on the boat.
Throughout the season, the crew reportedly reels in around $15,000 per person in tips for about six weeks of work.
