Other shows affected by the Writers’ Guild of America strikes include The Talk, Abbott Elementary, Cobra Kai, and Yellowjackets.

On May 1, 2023, it was revealed that the Writers’ Guild of America was officially calling for a strike after failing to reach a contract agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
“The companies’ behavior has created a gig economy inside a union work force, and their immovable stance in this negotiation has betrayed a commitment to further devaluing the profession of writing,” the WGA said in a statement.
Thousands of unionized Hollywood writers have since staged a walkout to bring awareness to unfair wages – marking the first strike in over 15 years.
Raphael Bob-Waksberg, the creator of the Netflix animated series, BoJack Horseman, told NBC Nightly News in an interview: “We want more money. We want enough money to make a basic living doing what we love.”

Previously, on May 9, 2022, a staff member from The Late Show tweeted: “Stephen is experiencing symptoms consistent with a recurrence of COVID.
“Out of an abundance of caution for his staff, guests, and audience, he will be isolating for a few additional days,” the statement read.
Since Colbert was unable to film new episodes of The Late Show, reruns were played during his usual time slot.
According to IMDb, every episode Stephen filmed during the month of April 2022 pulled in scores of higher than 7.0 stars.
