ALANA “Honey Boo Boo” Shannon, 16, is a reality TV personality who shot to fame after appearing in the reality series Toddlers & Tiaras.
The teen star then starred in her own spin-off series, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo which premiered in 2012 and later appeared on Dancing With The Stars: Juniors, paired with Tristan Ianiero.
What is Honey Boo Boo doing now?
Alana Thompson now appears on her mum’s reality TV show Mama June: Road to Redemption, goes to high school and dreams of becoming a neonatal nurse.
In August 2021, Alana appeared as a centrefold on the cover of Teen Vogue.
Alana appeared in the magazine dressed much differently than the casual attire viewers are used to seeing the 16-year-old sporting on reality TV.
In their interview with the high schooler, Teen Vogue discussed her breakout role on the series which brought her career into motion at the age of six, and the success she’s endured since.
She said: “I want to be the best I can be, and I want to make my money, and I also want to make straight A’s, so I just try my hardest.”
However, the TV star admitted that she’s struggled keeping up with the lifestyle that fame brought her as she is still a “child”.
The interview continues with Alana claiming that she has moved on from her Honey Boo Boo character and embraced her true identity as Alana.
She told Teen Vogue: “They are completely two different people.
“I would say that I do like this Alana now, rather than the younger Alana.”
While Alana revealed that she is currently working on her relationship with her mother, she said she is proud of herself for how far she has come.
When was Honey Boo Boo on The Masked Singer?
Honey Boo Boo and her mum June were eliminated from The Masked Singer in the episode of November 3, 2021.
The duo was slammed as the “worst performers EVER” in the show’s history when the Beach Ball revealed who they were.
The Beach Ball made its debut as the final wildcard contestant of the season but received the lowest votes and host Nick Cannon, 40, revealed they would be sent home.
When asked how it was being inside a beach ball Alana said: “It was definitely very hot and we had a lot of things going on.
“We had to make sure we didn’t roll off the stage.
“She was in the back of the ball, you know I had to be the star of the show!”
Meanwhile, June told the judges: “I was in my addiction. I was away from my kids for two years. Now I’m celebrating two years clean.
“This is the first project – outside of our show- that we’ve done together, so it feels kind of nice.”
She added: “I cried. That’s why I missed the first line. I always do whenever she performs.”
Is she still living with her sister?
The former Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star is staying with her older sister Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird who has been given legal guardianship of the teen after Mama June was arrested on possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in 2019.
At the time, she faced jail time for the criminal charges.

In August 2021, The Celeb Report exclusively revealed that Geno had been sentenced to 16 months in prison on drug charges after his ex narrowly avoided any jail time related to the same 2019 drug arrest.
