What prize do the Love Island winners get and do islanders get paid?

LOVE Island has proved a perfect platform for launching the career of aspiring reality stars.

But there can only be one winner, and for the 2022 series the prize changed slightly.

What do the Love Island winners get?

The winning Love Island couple is awarded £50K which is split between them.

Up until 2022, the winning couple would each choose an envelope, and the person with the prize money in it, could choose to steal it for themselves or share it with their partner.

But producers decided to change this for season 8, and it was revealed the winnings would automatically be split between winning couple Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.

On top of this cash prize, every year the winners go on to have lucrative careers.

The Celeb Report revealed how Ekin-Su is already being tipped to be the most successful and richest Islander EVER.

Do the Love Islanders receive a salary?

The Celeb Report previously revealed how the Islanders receive £250 a week for appearing on the show.

Essentially they don’t get paid, the amount they receive is paid by ITV to compensate them for their time on the show.

The fee covers their bills, their rent as well as other general costs they usually have to cover back home.

The winners strive to win the £50,000 prize and contestants can hope to rake in more from building their profile after the show.
