Simon Cowell is moving on to a new TV venture – but staying behind the scenes

What is Walk The Line?

Walk The Line is Cowell‘s latest TV game show, produced by his own company, Syco Entertainment, and ITV Productions.

The concept of the new programme is sure to appeal to fans of The X Factor.

During the series, a range of musical acts, including soloists, choirs and bands, will be competing for a £500,000 prize.

Each show will introduce a high-stake dilemma to contestants.

The two acts judged the best will have to decide whether they cash out of the competition or Walk The Line to move to the next stage of the competition.

The longer an act stays, the larger their prize pot will be as they will have to take on a new set of performers in the next episode.

What time is Walk The Line on ITV?

From tonight (Sunday, December 12) each episode will be broadcast at 8pm on ITV until Friday, December 17.

The game show is set to be a real nail-biting experience for contestants and viewers alike as the champion will be offered a higher cash out prize.

Participants will need to decide whether they leave the competition or stay behind in the hopes of becoming the overall winner.

Who will present Walk The Line?

TV presenter Maya Jama will be presenting the new TV show – a gig she’s described as her “childhood dream”

The 27-year-old Bristolian made a name for herself after she was the placed in charge of the annual Mobo awards, making her the youngest presenter yet.

She has since gone on to host Stand Up To Cancer, Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-up Star, Comic Relief and more.

When is Walk The Line on ITV?

The programme will air on six consecutive nights at the same time and will wrap up on Friday, December 17, 2021.

Who are the Walk The Line judges?

Despite Cowell’s scathing comments on The X Factor making him a household name, the star is taking a very different role this time around.

He has decided to step back from the judging panel, despite initially hoping to head it, and will be acting as a producer.

Instead, the judging panel will be made up of Take That star Gary Barlow, Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, actress and comedian Dawn French and legendary DJ Craig David.

What is the prize for winning Walk The Line?

The winners of the game show will get a £500,000 prize.

Cowell said: “We wanted to develop a show which will give the contestants a life-changing cash prize if they win.”

Talent will therefore not be enough, as contestants will obviously need nerves of steel to Walk The Line.
